hi, I was trying to install a new powercolor radeon 9100 64mb on my computer (axp 1800+, 512mb ram, gigabyte mb, 2*60gb 7200 rpm). I previously had a gf2 there. when I pluged the card, and powered on the pc, I could immediatly see (i.e in the screen writing that the bios does (POST)) that the screen is sort of 'jumpy' across (not from the top down, but side to side), like sort of VARY bad refresh and VARY bad resolution, the problem continued while loading windows, and then also in windows itself. Through playing with the deffinitions (refresh and resolution mainly) I was able to get a sort of 'stable' state. but still I get points smeering/flickering every few secs. Obviously somthing's wrong... I tried also a different monitor, but the problem was the same (also right on start up.. so it has nothing to do with drivers I guess, since windows wasn't even loaded..). I thought my AGP slot was messed, but when I reinstalled the old card (gf2) it seems to work well. Anyone ever ran into this before? suggestions? unit is deffective? H E L P! thanks
