radeon 9100 and splinter-cell

Once again, I have problems with my newly installed powercolor radeon 9100 64mb (is this supposed to be such a pain in the a** to install this damn card?!). Anyway while playing the game in regular vision mode, I can see a nice improvment over my good old GF2.. BUT, when I turn the nightvision on, especially near areas which are a bit lighted, so I'm supposed to get a very bright picture, instead I get a white screen (also very bright, but... can't see nothing) or instead of the graphics I see squares on my screen (like if someone painted a math notebook on my screen). Any ideas if this is deffinition issue or whatever? I know for sure I'm not pushing the card to its limit, since the gf2 worked on the same settings... so I'd expect radeon 9100 to preform at least as good... thanks.

You went from nVidia to ATI without a good cleaning, didn't you. 😛

I've heard of boatloads of driver conflicts and issues doing that. You may need to reinstall or do some serious registry burning. 😕

It could also be an issue with the particular drivers you're using for your ATI. What's the version, and are you using ATI Catalyst or the retail PowerColor set?

I'm using the catalyst I d/l from powercolor's site, its version 3.2, since the one that came in the box (retail) was like 2.2 or somthing... the ATI control panel, I didn't d/l the one from the site, I just figured I might as well use the one in the box... does it matter? beside where can I d/l the ATI Catalyst, I serached for them but ATI's page is REALLY bad, can't find there anything... thanks.

I had the same problem...it was caused by some of the old nvidia driver still on my system

does anyone know in that case, how can I remove completly the nVidia drivers from my rig? any links/progs that do it for me..?

Do a google search for "Drivercleaner Download". It is a 1.5MB zipped file that you are looking for.

That should sort out the driver removal issues - whether or not that solves the problem remains to be seen.

google comes up with like 5 results for that, none of which are relevant, do you have an exact program name or even better a link? and if you mean the detonator destroyer, then as far as I know there's yet no version for winxp.
