Radeon 9000 Pro

I am trying to help my nephew install a Radeon 9000 Pro Evil Commando video card in his Gateway computer. I am having a problem and I am hoping someone can help me. It appears the card installed ok but there is a 1 1/2 inch black border around the outside of the monitor and I can't get the monitor to go full screen no matter what I do. I have tried differnt resoloution settings to no avail. According to ATI's web site I should be using the correct XP drivers. He had a Nvidia card originally. I hope I have described the problem correctly and hope that someone can help me with this. Thanks

Welcome to the forums!

Since he had an nVidia card in there b4 the ATI, did you have him d/l and run Driver Cleaner to clear out the old nVidia driver fragments ? If not, that may be the cause of the problem (if it isn't the monitor settings).

Update:
The computer I am trying to install the Radeon 9000 in is a 733MHz Gateway. I have a 450 MHz Gateway and I was curious if the card would install in my computer. It installed with no problems. I have downloaded driver cleaner and will try that. I still think it is a driver issue. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
