Radeon 9000 Pro 64MB Vs. 128MB

Are there any disadvantages to the 128MB version of this card? I thought I saw somewhere that the clock speed of the 9000 Pro 128MB wasn't as high as the 64MB version. Anybody know for sure? Thanks.

Youre thinking of a GF4 ti4200. The 64 and 128 versions are clocked differently.

The Radeon 9000 Pro runs at 275/500

For 20 bucks, pick up the extra 64MB

Actually. they're clocked at 275/550 (275 actual clock), unless you're buying powercolor. It's also shown that 128mb has no performance increase over the 64mb, however if the price dif is almost nill, get the 128mb, as it's clocked as the same as the 64mb.

Are you guys sure the memory clock speed is the same for both cards? NewEgg's description of the 9000 Pro 64MB says "Maximium memory Interface :13.2GB/s with 275MHZ DDR," but it says the 128MB has a maximum memory interface of "9.6GB/s with 200MHZ DDR. " These are the Sapphire Tech Radeon cards.

For the built by ATI ones, yes i'm sure. The Sapphire Tech ones, you just gotta make sure you buy the Pro version, Because the non-pro is clocked at 250/200 (clock locked btw) regardless of memory size.

why go for R9000 Pro's? the 8500 LE's yield better performance anyway.. you better pick them up before as they're scarce already
