First impressions - damn its big, this thing looks easily as big as my ti4200 if not bigger. Not tried many games as such, UT plays very good tv - out is very good readable at 800 x 600, quite sharp at 1024 x 768. With a tualtin 1ghz, 256mb pc133 and win xp installed I get 4700 3d2001se marks - not too shabby. Just waiting on the mx 440 to try now.

 Well the word around is that Rad9000 won't be significantly faster than GF4MX440 or even Rad7500, so it's best buying points are really DX8 and o/c'ability. Have you tried o/c'ing it yet. Rad9000 should get about a 20% boost from o/c'ing which would make Rad9000PCI perf about equivilent to a Rad9000AGP. I wonder if we will see Rad9000PRO make it to PCI, only time will tell. It's a shame Rad8500LE never made it to PCI as it's still 15% faster than Rad9000PRO, of course it doesn't techniicly suit PCI as well as the Rad9000 design though.

;) It will be very cool to hear from an actual user how the PCI range compare, esp at the top end, GF4MX440 vs Rad9000!

I got the card from komplett. I probably wont overclock the card as its in my shuttle sv25 and takes up around alot of space so heat will be a problem. The card is passively cooled and has 4ns ram.

So, Hercules and Powercolor both have PCI Radeon's out in other countries, this is becoming very interesting. I know that Powercolor is shipping this week their PCI card to the U.S. for selling around Nov. 1. As for Hercules, this will be interesting to see how they will play for the demand of this card, which Powercolor claims is huge here in the U.S.

;) ATI Rad9000 std clocks are 250/400 while ATI Rad9000PRO std clcoks are 275/550. A Rad9000 with 4ns RAM should easily get to 500mhz and around 550mhz should be possible and o/c'ing RAM doesn't give off a lot of extra heat BUT will significantly enhance perf. With active cooling the core should hit about 300 and at 300/550 that thing should smoke! Even so at 250/500 is will still be a lot faster than at 250/400, I'd def o/c it a little bit.

When its installed an a case which is only 2" bigger than the edges any heat is a problem - its mainly to be used at 800 x 600 on my tv so speed is not a massive issue.

a ram overclock would not be an issue heat wise even in such a small space, but it is, of course, your decision.
