I have this card which is by the way the new card I got by rma'ing the last one....
Both cards experience freeze up in graphic intensive programs (3dmark2001 not SE and specviewperf)...this new card experiences some artifacting white dots flickering near the bottom of the page....
I am running winxp, dx 8.0a, latest catalyst drivers for "powered by ATI" devices as per webpage...latest motherboard drivers and bios....I have used default cd drivers in both winxp and 98
Now this is a test on a completely different system with 2 different OSes. Virtually all new parts. 2nd card of this brand.
One thing I notice that if I run the device at default it will have issues. If I install radtweak I see the card is set 250/250 for core/mem. I thought le's were supposed to be 230/230??? If I run at 230/230 I make it through the couple times I have tested it. Are those 250/250 wrong and this card is suffering from heat....I will loop it a couple of times in a row to try to find that out.
My system is oc'd, but I have an agp/pci lock so nothing should be out of spec. I have tested it at default speed and got it to freeze, but it took like 4th test to.
System runs all day with gf4mx at high oc. Has been prime tested.
Winxp concludes after freeze with the error report that the problem is the ati display driver, but I don't think it should still be with all the diff drivers and the fact it has now occurred with 2 cards on 2 different system with 2 different OSes.
My GF4mz runs fine. maybe it is a agp 4x thing, but I can't find where on this epox board to turn it to 2x or 1x to test...
Score I get at p4 1.6@2.66 (333mhz ddr at conservative settings) = 8754 (230/230)
Success run at default 1.6@1.6 (266mhz ddr at aggressive) = 7600's (249.8/249.8)
Success run at 1.6@2.13 (354mhz ddr) = 7874 (249.8/249.8) failed on second test
Specviewperf didn't make it at 1.6 default in winxp...listed driver as culprit...went to get catalyst drivers....
Any special install for catalyst drivers???
