Any hot deals on Radeon 8500s (RETAIL ONLY) out there? The cheapest I've seen is $205 on Pricewatch.

Be carefull the one listed for 205 on pricewatch is not a card made by ATI it is a Powermax or something like that and it is clocked slower than the regular ATI retail board and it has slower memory on it and it has a 1 year warr vs 3 year on the real ATI board. The best price on the real one right now is go to Dell and use the 15% off business coupon and you can get it for 215 shipped. They are out of stock but supposed to be in soon.

hmmm.. strange... last friday I ordered two ATI Radeon 8500 OEMs from newegg for under 200 dollars each for my company. However, I just checked their site and they aren't selling them anymore. They have the 8500 LE for under 200 but i'm not sure thats what you want.

SpecialEd that card on multiwave is the OEM for $200, I ordered it yesterday but decided to cancel my order and go for Logitec Z-560 speakers.
However I more than agree with you about mwave.com

BUY FROM THEM!! you WONT regret it, these people have GREAT service.
They have replaced me a burnt Athlon and an Abit motherboard no questions asked.

I'd go retail, personally. The OEM is a good deal, though. Just make sure the OEM you get is an ATi.

I love my 8500.

it looks like the Dell deal is the only one that is good... I got a retail 8500 pending from them for $219 including shipping and tax.
Newegg doesn't even sell the RETAIL 8500 (only the OEM), and MWave is selling the RETAIL 8500 for $249.
I WANT THE RETAIL!!!
Stink! I hate waiting on Dell, but I can't find a better or equal deal anywhere else...

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm trapped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:frown:

Have hope, mine showed up on my doorstep last friday, (ordered on Oct 3). And it was worth the wait for me. Fine card that 8500 is..The funny thing is that they said they canceled to order on Monday of last week. I go the email on friday that they would, forgot all about it, when to the parents for the weekend, and when i came back monday, nearly kicked myself for not replying. But It still came later that week to my relief.

Get a oem and flash to Retail status. You get driver CD, and DVD software, and S video cable. Just no halfife, or other game. No DVI converter. Look at NEWEGG. I had dell, but why get retail? the S video cable kind of short, and I don't see anything else worth it.
