Radeon 8500 Retail @ BB B&M for 199.00!!!!

If they drop down to $140 in the next 30 days im getting another one. but $199 is good deal for BB they were $299 few weeks ago.

I got in on this earlier this week...$199 at BB pricematch with an online retailer in 60 days, you know it's going to just get cheaper. AMEX Blue what would we do w/o you!

Don't expect BB to lower it any more than this...when the 64mb card are gone thats it because they are discontinued...then the Radeon 128mb 8500LE and 128mb 8500 will hit the shelves at $199 and $299.
The old one @ $199 is the best deal by far so run and get one if you don't already have one...hell I love mine so much that I feel like stocking up on them.

<< Can we Pricematch if we have the AMEX Student card?? >>

I have heard both ways, yes and no. I would call AMEX to be sure.

Yeah you can get the card for less than $199. But if you are a serious gamer I would suggest Best Buy B&M.
I went thru 3 cards until I found one that would overclock to 300/600(ddr) stable looping 3D Mark 2001 for 12 hours. The first card went to 292/292 stable and the second card was virtually un-overclockable and had some other minor problems. So you be the jugde if spending an extra $30-$40 is worth it to have a top notch example of a Radeon 8500. MWave certainly will not let you exchange your card 3 times because you are unhappy with its performance..plus you will pay shipping out the kazoo.

Because of their very leanient return policy Best Buy is bar none the very best place to purchase a video card.

isn't that kinda scamming their return policy?? what do they do with the now-unsealed and briefly used radeons?? or is that not your concern...

Buying a video card, testing it for overclocking, and then returning it is immoral behavor. You are taking advantage of them unfairly.
When a card is returned they must discount it as an "open box" item.

I have no love for Best Buy but they do have a right to stay in business. People doing things like this is ruining America. To many people just out for themselves and not thinking about others.

Frankly I am insulted. I buy alot of stuff at Best Buy at full cost, very often paying quite a few more dollars for the item than what I could have had it for. Its not like I do this with everything I buy. Immoral behavior?..What about all these unfair pricematching and rebate threads , why have you decided to pick me out over these guys?
I support Best Buy and I support my local economy, for 90% of my purchases I pay the full price...is it so bad that I do this for one particual item?

Besides..Best Buy will not lose anything out of this deal..I returned the cards in pristine condition , I did not even open the software or cables nor did I ruin the cards or even completely remove the plastic shrinkwrap..I treated the cards as though I would keep them and would recommend them to anyone..the second card was actually defective..they will mark the one card down 10-15% and still make a profit and return the other card to ATI for a refund.

Please go pick on some real criminals here at this forum, some of you make me sick to my stomach!

Do not covet thy neighbor

BentValve,
Their is nothing wrong with price matching. If a company touts they have the best prices and offers to match any competitors price, they are fair game. A rebate on top is immaterial. Rebates are usually offered by the manufactuer of the goods to help clear out stock so the retailer will buy the newer model.

As far as your purchase/test/return behavior, I stand by my statement that it's wrong. Best Buy will have to discount the returned card since the box has been opened. Just because you buy other stuff from them doesn't make this behavior acceptable.

Do the right thing and set a good example for others please.

i agree w/Nessism on this point -- your actions speak volumes about who you are as a person, and yours leave a bitter taste in my mouth...

its one thing to buy a card from OCZ or some overclocker's specialty store and then return it when it doesn't perform as expected (guaranteed OC to 300, but yours crashes at 290), and an entirely different matter when you are scamming retailers. as much as i may dislike BB due to recent GF4/TV/etc crap, this is not right.

in the case of a FAULTY unit then i agree it should be returned. in the case of "wahhhh my card doesn't OC as much as i want" i advise you to go cry to your mommie.
