what radeons are clocked at 275/275 and which are 250/250? Is a retail vs oem thing or what? And would you think most of the 250/250 cards would overclock well?
Yup, retail is 275/275 and the oem is 250/250. Get the retail even if it is a few extra bucks. Then I would recommend putting some RAMsinks on the RAM, then you can easily get 300/300. Good luck!
Eh you more than likely could eek out the extra 25MHz to get the OEM up to retail speeds, but if you go with retail you could probably get it up even more...
there is something in the oem cards which does not make them good overclockers. there will be a new 2nd party radeon 8500 card with 128mb of ddr. it will be made by joytech, check it out, it looks interesting. also, every card made outside of ati will have oem speeds (250/250).
