I need a site to get the latest drivers for an "powered by ATI" card...likeluy means an LE version....

I get wierd lines and stuff in the 3dmark2001 bench....

I also need to know how to oc thes things??? I want to see what the core is at and push it up to at least stock Radeon 8500...

update:

I installed latest reference drivers at ati's site for "powered by ati" vendors....TV out looks like crap and I have tried everything....full reinstalls...3 different drivers...all different resolutions and refresh rates.....

I expect the f^cking thing to work out of the box with the ati driver disk that came with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HATE ATI......

This appears to be a problem with 8500 boards and is not limited to only oem or other partnered boards....

Secondly this card has lockups which cause weird vertical lines...total lockups....I downclocked my p4 to 1.8 and set my pc2700ddr below 333mhz and no difference....at 230/230 I may lockup...anything higher and it is almost guaranteed....I think it is heat...the fan seems pathetic on the thing I can't even feel any air movement....

REGARDLESS: once again ATI and its chipsets still fail to work out of the box...it is becoming regular with there sh^t assss cards....My nvidia worked perfectly out of the box, including the tv-out. The reason I changed (and I am regretting it now) was the fact that tv-out enabled on my GF2 pro card would disable monitor altogether....

I want to get either a GF4 4200 and live with the above fact or have you guys propose something else

Its says apollo on the side...but, it says ati all over it and in the booklet it gives all the ati tech support....

Hmmm, So waht do I do???

Also should I try the latest ati version 4.13.9030??? Mine is listed in different format 4.13.01.7191...That diff format has me worried....

You can install the lestest ATI drivers, the Ati install will not install it but you can install them manualy by pointing it to the c:\ati\... folder.

tried ati drivers no go....tv out still sucks and card with no ocing crashes in 3dmark2001....use reference drivers for ati partners and still crashes....

use radeon tweaker and downclock the card to 230 or below for the core and the memory and it runs fine.....

my p4 1.8@2.2 gets 7900 in 3dmark2001 with 229.5/229.5....at default without this tweaking it never made a successful pass....

ocing of p4 not issue as both memory and cpu where set back to default or less...fresh install...memory and cpu at oc'd speeds pass all sorts of stress test and divx encodings for hours....

POS card once again by ATI....getting old....

please read my update:

What operating system do you use? The latest leaked beta drivers are better than the ones to be found at ATi's site.

I am running win98 right now...I used the win98/me leaked betas at www.rage3d.com and they didn't help.....

Do the plutonium drivers I hear about work for win98??? are they possibly better???

One guy at rage3d.com forums said this is a known issue with the tv and ati support knows of it....but we know about ati and their "award-winning" support...

it might be due to their lack of full-fledge driver development for win9x...i mean, they probably put more effort in to the WDM drivers.
if u're running win98SE, try the WDM drivers anyway...see how they work.

use your card's manufacturer's drivers....see if they work..it might be made by a number of companies, like club3d...there should be a silk-screened model number on the PCB used to identify the manufacturer-specific model number...do a search in google when u find it.

try the club3d drivers as well...they're updated quite regularly.

No problems with my "Built by ATI" card. Works great. I have bo complaints... and I get better image quality, and better FPS than comparably or more costly NVidia cards (ti200/ti500).

I've had my retail R8500 card for 5 months now and have never had a problem. I'm using the official, certified drivers from ATI and everything works flawlesslly, all games and all apps. Don't know what your problem is.

maybe the tv-out may improve with drivers....

But, the fact when I downclock the card it will run fine tells me no driver issue...this card I believe at site is advertised as 250/250....radeontweaker states 250/250 as default...that aside at default speed with no tweaker installed it will crash in 3dmark2k1 in 2nd test....

I will try the omega drivers...if I can get tv to look crisp like my 4 year old ati pc2tv card was then I would except the 229.5/229.5 as top speeds as being adequate....otherwise this card is just another ati failure for me....

maybe you got a bad card because my "powered by ati" card is working perfectly except for the tv-out. the only problem with it is that it displays in black & white. i dunno why but maybe it's also my tv because it is extremely old already.

Its the devil monster II by apollo graphics....Does anybody know what its official speed and where its site is at??? I went to apollo as shown on pricewatch and nothing about this card on the site....

maybe this card can only do 230/230....however the tv-out is not exceptable...my GF2 pro card worked fine other then the inability to have monitor on at same time....the picture was decent...I always heard the ATI picture was more superb...

Could be the cable your using to connect to your TV as well, I've had a bad cable give me black and white.

You have a bad card, get a different one.
