why order so fast without seeing reviews?
I thought geforce3 was awesome, even after reviews though...still not impressed. Wow mad FPS and high 3dmarks score...it's not everything to me though, I know it is to others.

Doom 3 won't even run 60 FPS with it, carmack said it will run 30 FPS at max details..not thatit means much anyways since doom will be coming out in a long time.

looking at ATi's website, the 8500DV looks more like an All In Wonder version of the 8500..

I got my VisionTek GF3 the VERY first day the GF3 was available to the public for $399! *EVERY* retail location (EB, CompUSA) had it for the same price. It fell sharply, but $600 was probably the Asus "Deluxe" version of the card...

The GeF3 is still at least $20 bucks cheaper at newegg.

GeF3 = $297 (includes tax and shipping)
Radeon 8500 = $318 (includes tax and $5 shipping*)

*Assumes $5 s&h. Was unable to find actual s&h costs.

EDIT: I wonder how much the GeF3 will go down in price once the Titanium series is out.

Price might not be the matter if the 2D quality is there and colours in 32bit games....performance may be an issue but nvidia seems to be just going for FPS no matter what, even if image quality decreases.

Well it's still unreleased as yet, and it's a pretty safe bet prices will drop slightly when it's available.

Nah, I get plenty of that from my GeF3. But you're right, Nvidia needs to approach their next line of cards by giving them the 2D quality they deserve. Adding a 2D feature or two to the Titanium series would help Nvidia greatly.
