I can't find the right DVI-VGA converter for my Radeon 8500.....

I bought an 8500 right here on Anandtech, and it sure looks like an 8500, and my system properties identify it as an 8500..... but the DVI socket doesn't match the 8500's DVI-I socket as shown on ATI's website. ATI's website shows a socket with a "plus-shaped" feature, and mine has a "T-shaped" feature. I tried to draw them with ASCII artwork but they won't come out right onscreen. The DVI-VGA adapter I bought over at Newegg doesn't fit becuase it has the "plus-shaped" connector, and I can't find anything that matches the "T-shaped" footprint. Please advise???

Both connectors have 3x8 pins with the "plus" or "T" shaped pins off to one side.

Never mind.... the problem is that I somehow ended up with a DVI-D connector on this card, which is just about useless. I'm kinda upset with the buyer, who said it could run dual CRT's with a standard DVI-VGA adapter, but at least I know what the problem is now.
