Radeon 8500 doing poorly in Serious Sam SE????!

I just brought my radeon 8500 hoping to get some kick ass performance out of it, but when I try to run serious sam se at 1280x1024 it's reallllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy laggy. It's like 30-50 frames per sec. Is it my pc problem or is it the game engine?

First of all, Serious Sam SE is quite an intensive game. And to run it ast 1280 X 1024 is really too high IMO.
I find 1024 X 768 to be ideal for games. (but thats is just me).

Next point to make is that I doubt that it would appear "laggy" (or choppy) at 30-50 fps. If you are getting these frame rates you should be happy. (And you should be using a frame rate counter to see those).

When it gets slightly choppy you are probably under 20 fps. And according to your description, it sounds like you are below 10 fps.

Check out www.planetserious.com (in their forums) for details on optimizing Serious sam SE for ur radeon 8500.

it would help if you noted your pc specs

System Configuration?

Driver set?

Overclocking?

You need to provide more details.

If you're running 1280x1024 with all the options, don't expect 200fps.
