does anyone has this Radeon running with 3D anabled in a non rpm-like linux ?

i just cant find the tgz/tar.gz files at ati.com :/

plus ... i sent 2 msgs in two different places in their site and just recieved that auto-answer and another mail that says to go again though a qustionarie that takes me nowhere ...

i'd really like to have a R8500 in my pc, running my Truform-enabled Quake 1 ... but they just dont let me ... :/
