Radeon 8500 and DVI connector

What is the DVI Adapter, it doesn't come with the OEM package, do I need one?

Only if you want to run 2 VGA monitors off of your Radeon 8500...

If you only want to run 1 VGA monitor, or 1 VGA and 1 DVI (LCD or some rare CRTs), then you don't need it.
