Radeon 8500 and DVD playback issue...

I thought Radeon has superior DVD playback, but it gives very grainy picture under bright scene. I've tried both ATI DVD5.0 and PowerDVD 4.0. They both look the same. What give?

I output mine to the tv, and it looks amazing. I did notice some not sure great moments when I had it on my pc, but that was 1024 res, and its supposed to be 800x600 for the tv. When I had it full screen on the computer it was fine, but windowed looked not so good too.

DVD IS AMAZING on my HDTV for 1920X540 resolution.

Matrox G400.

I tried Geforce2MX, AIW Radeon, but finally it's G400.

Thats funny because I seemed to get grainy picture on the dark scenes. Its really bad when my daughter sees rugrats in paris. I compensated by increasing the brightness control on the windvd.

it was fine on mine though. I use the new MMC7.5. One thing though--you need to tweak the video settings in order to remove the grainy things--prolly the brightness settings or gamma settings are just too high.
