Radeon 8500 AIW DV???? one quick question

While searching for drivers I noticed on ATI's website that the AIW 8500dv isn't supported under windows 98. I really want to buy this card but I am not sure If I am going to have win 98 or xp in my new system. Can I run this card under windows 98 with 3rd party drivers? Surely someone has done this right? Why wouldn't ATI support this card under win 98?

Sorry about last post.

Highly unlikely. I just bought the card last Friday along with a new mobo and CPU and memory. Well, CPU is DOA. Waiting for a new one. Beside my best guess is that they used WDM (Windows Driver Model) type, which is supported starting WinMe and on.

Sorry, I didn't quite understand your post.
So your saying that theres no way to use this card with windows 98?

IIRC, its not supported because of the firewire bridge, but if you can deal with fat32 and video capture, the card should work fine in 98se for the most part. Check this thread.
