Hey guys.

I am posting this mainly out of curiosity.

I brought my good pc from home to our cottage house and connected it to a noname HDTV (AOC 32'').

Upon boot, when Windows reaches the user selection screen a low volume popping sound starts and reoccurs every 3 seconds. It goes like gdoup.....gdoup....gdoup....etc

The strange thing is, that every time a normal sound plays, the popping stops. Even if I mute the sound's source (Youtube, Vimeo, PotPlayer), the popping is stopped. Them it begins immediately after normal playback has stopped. Of course if I mute the whole system it is not heard.

This does not happen on my home's HDTV. Same system, same software.

I tried disabling the mobo's audio system and left only the Radeon's, to no avail.

The HDTV only has one HDMI port so I cannot check another one.

Any ideas of what could be causing this? Thanks

Perhaps a poorly grounded AC outlet? Try connecting the computer and TV to different circuits in the cottage, if it has different ones (maybe use an extension cord)? Also, there could be a bad ground in how the wiring is connected in the cottage that results in the audio noise?

There are audio devices for cars to block this kind of audio/ground loop noise, but maybe a similar filter exists for AC cords plugged into an outlet?

My first though was around electricity, but would that explain why the popup only occurs when there's no audio playback on the pc?

Of course I'll run an extension cord around the house's outlets to see what's going on.
