Radeon 7500, wow

I just picked up a Radeon 7500 on the way home today to stick in my new system. Man am I impressed! At first I was a bit reluctant to get an ATi card with all this talk of bad performance and problems and other BS, but everythings been fine so far. The 2D quality on this thing is excellent! Also now I'm seeing things in games that I didn't even know where there with my GTS!
Well I feel like I made the right choice, and I hope ATi keeps making stuff like this so I never have to go back to nVidia again!

I have a 7500 and haven't even played a game on it yet!!! Perhaps I've outgrown games...

But the 7500 gave me a ton of problems in Win2k, had to go to WinXP.

Yeah thats the one I've got (only not from newegg). I live in New Zealand so the original ATi was twice the price of this one. This card is made by a company called Jupiter, which I think is actually Powercolor. Apparently Nvidia threatened them with legal action if they sold ATi cards under the Powercolor name.
Anyway this card is great, way better than my GTS (which was Asus).

I got the 7500 from Newegg. The more I use it, the more I think my LE had better 2D. I run 1280 @ 85hz and think the 2D is the worse out of my last few vid cards - G200, G400, LE and now 7500. It could be the drivers, but I doubt it. Anyone else make the same upgrade, LE to 7500? What do you think? Also, I won't even go into the Win2k 3D refresh rate problems.

Yeah I think I know what you mean flenn. I'm using a G200 on a 15" at 1024x768 right now and it looks pretty good, could even be better than my 7500.

Well, Matroxes are suppose to have better 2d than everything else. I haven't noticed anything bad about my 7500 compared to my old Radeon VIVO though.

My problem is right when it switches from the DOS-like mode into Win2k, the screen blanks out, though the computer is still loading. I put in a second vid card and it showed that the Radeon 7500 was just gone from the hardware devices...weird. Win98 and WinXP work for me though, so I migrated.

SharkyExtreme did a R8500 and R7500 review. It looks like R7500 is slower than Geforce 2 Ti at the moment, until new driver arrive.

OK I just looked at the benches in that review, am I that good or does the P4 stink that bad?
Im getting 4448 3D#s with a K712oo@125o(104fsb) and a slight OC on the card.

BTW Im much happier with it over the KyroII I had, great idea the KyroII but really needs to work out its compatability issues.
