Yes very much so, Ive heard as high as 5.5ns RAM! My retail has 3.6ns but thats not the norm it's luck, 3.8 seems to be the norm.

The OEM R7500 is clocked at 270/230 whereas the Retail board is clocked at 290/230.
The overwhelming majority of OEM R7500's use 4ns DDR SDRAM.
I have heard of an extremely small number that use 3.6 and 3.8ns RAM however, I've never heard of an OEM R7500 using slower RAM then 4ns, and certainly not 5.5ns RAM as RAM rated at 5.5ns wouldnt be anywhere near able to handle the rated clockspeed of the OEM R7500.

The R7500 is primarily memory bandwidth limited however, so the increased core clockspeed of the retail board yields only a very small increase in performance.

My 7500 OEM has 4ns ram. I'm currently running it at 300/275 with absolutely no artifacts. I've had it at 315/280 as well with no problems. 300/275 is such a nice round number I figured i'd leave it there.

I dont know it as fact but on the rage 3d forums theres a guy who says his OEM came clocked 250/180 stock with hynix5.5 ns RAM and a quote from that same thread "The Gigabyte Radeon 7500 LE is clocked at 230 MHz Core/ 183 MHz Ram". Myself Ive used 3 different OC'ers(all I could find) and I still dont beleave what Im getting so I'll reserve judgement but if its true I need more room on the OC sliders. ;)

Interesting overclock, but after 280MHz my ram starts artifacting right away, so i'll have to be content with leaving it at 275MHz. I haven't pushed the core above 315MHz, it's stable at that speed, but I never run things at the max. Like to keep'em awhile.
