Radeon 7500 on old AMD 750 based board?

I just ordered myself an ATI Radeon 7500, in the hopes of getting it to run smoothly with my soon to be 2 years old ASUS K7M, which is based on the AMD 751 northbridge. The CPU is an old Athlon Classic 750@936.

Does anybody have a similar setup, and are there many problems with it?

I hope forcing AGPx1 could fix any incompabilities, so that this setup can last until sometime next spring where I can afford a new motherboard and CPU.

OS is Win2k, with all relevant drivers installed.

Doesn't any of the over 79000 members of these forums have an answer for this? :)

Or do you just think I'm stupid for even trying to get it to work?

Edit: Removed typo.

I dont see why it shouldn't work. As long as the chipset and card have no specific voltage requirements for AGP standard, there should be no problem.

Well, I got the card installed it with the newest drivers from ATI, and its been running perfectly at AGPx2 with sidebands.

300MHz core 241MHz DDR memory.

Seems I had no reasons to worry.

Quite a difference, going from my TNT2 Ultra to this card
