What are the differences between these 2. It would notbe for a gaming system. It would have an LCD monitor so I need good image quality. Which would be better.

The 7500 has dual monitor output including DVI - which you want - but I
don't think the 7000 does. The 7500 is also faster.

The Radeon 7000 has both dual-display and TV output but you shouldn't get it if you plan on playing any 3D games.

7000 is good enough to play half life, UT, CS, NFS, Motoracer, and Q3 in 800X600.

No it isn't. Even at 640 x 480 x 32 it crawls in most of those games.

i had the 64mb radeon vivo ddr and that played CS fine @ 1024x768. i was getting about 60fps average w/AA enabled :) it looked very nice. now that leads to my question... was that video card i describe the 7000 or 7200?

Spanky the Radeon 7000 is slower than the Radeon 7200 and the Radeon 64 MB DDR VIVO is much faster than both of those cards.

Wait then, I had a radeon LE 32mb DDR, was that closer to the 7000 or the 7200? I know this is not on topic, but I was curious. also with just the LE I was able to play CS, half-life (same engine, I know) Quake 3, UT, and RTCW all in 1024x768 with great framerates. This must mean that it is better then the 7000, but how is it compared to the 7200? thanks

A stock Radeon LE is a little slower than a Radeon 32 MB DDR.

Basically the ordering is 64 MB DDR VIVO > Radeon 32 MB DDR > Radeon LE > Radeon 7200 > Radeon 7000.

The Radeon 7xxx cards are really at the bottom of the heap and are much slower than anything else in ATi's line. In fact I suspect that they're both slower than even a GF2 MX.
