radeon 7000: 32DDR or 64SDR?

Newegg has the 32ddr and the 64sdr made by sapphiretech.

Which should I get (price difference is a couple of dollars)?

Are the sapphiretech cards any good?

The Radeon 7000 core is not for gaming (it lacks Hardware T&L and only has one rendering pipeline), so it doesn't really matter too much. The 32mb DDR would be slightly faster though.

If you're looking for an inexpensive gaming card for around $40 to 50usd, then you may want to look at something along the lines of a Radeon LE (not to be confused with the Radeon VE, which also uses the Radeon 7000's core), Kyro2 64mb (if you have a decently powerful processor), GeForce2 MX400, or SiS 315.

Don't even think of buying that card my friend! I got the Radeon VE (same core but more feature rich- the best card for office use) by mistake 6 months ago and I am still trying to get rid of it! Try anything else like the MX400 or the Radeon LE instead.... Main drawbacks? Extra super crippled core and 64bit memory bus width-need more....?

P.S: Do u see how much can someone learn in 6 months time??

I believe the SDR card would be a bit faster/better. I'm pretty sure that the Radeon 7000 uses DDR memory on a 64-bit bus and SDR memory on a 128-bit bus (nVidia did this also with the original MX chip), so although the memory is DDR vs SDR there is no performance difference in the RAM (166 MHz DDR (DDR 333) with 64-bit bus = 166 MHz SDR memory on a 128 bit bus). Also, the SDR memory should overclock better, plus there's more memory on the 64 MB card vs the 32 MB one. So, with that said, the SDR should be the clear choice.

As was stated above, however, if you want to do any gaming at all, avoid the 7000; it's very slow for gaming.

the 64 bit uses 64 bit DDR. With that said, the 64 bit DDR would equal exactly to a 128bit SDR bus. Since the Radeon will not benefit in the extra 32megs of ram, pick the one that is cheapest.
