Radeon 6950 to AVR?

Currently im trying to find a patriot box with a + chip. But for now, could I connect my radeon 6950 hdmi out into my receive via hdmi in?
what would be the best software for that?

What exactly are you trying to do? Put only sound through HDMI?

nope, sound and video
play back blu ray via pc

You have to setup your OS and the drivers to output in that manner.

so im using tmt , then dl all drivers and basiclly connect hdmi and select it as output right? thanks!
