Just getting a thread up for this. Navi 24 will ride... Q1 2022... ish.

I fugure the 6500XT lands ~5500XT territory for ~$200.

And if your CPU can't handle AV1 decode, it ain't the card for you anyways. :D

That isn't the point. HW decode is more energy efficient then SW decode. With current insane energy prices, every little bit helps.

That plus the fact even the most basic Celeron (G6900) from Intel has full HW support. Its just a bit disappointing, that's all. AV1 does stand to become very common.

I'm still waiting for an RTX 3060 6GB card. Of course, that might leave the RTX 3050 8GB in a weird spot then.

-We'll see that part dragged out next gen to cover for part shortages at the low end.

Or late this gen who the hell knows it's not like weird RAM tiers have stopped NV at all this gen.

I'm curious. Now that the 6500XT is selling for $180 on Amazon, is anyone willing to change their mind & say it's worth buying.

Maybe it will drop to $100 or less during the GPU Flood. Would love it at that price, unless something better like a 3050 is also available at near that price +/-$20.

i don't think we'll ever see a floor like that unless its the used market.
And 6500XT's were not miners first picks.
They weren't even gamer's first picks.

ARGH $180 would only make me bite if i was absolutely desperate.
The only alternative at that price range is a 1030 or 1050Ti. Not my favorite choice, but both a substantial upgrade over Intel's iGPU and AMD's APU.

The way I look at it, there are always a number of customers worldwide just barely able to spend this much, and as you write, the competitors are much weaker.

It's the GPU equivalent of the Intel Pentium Gold G7400 (an emasculated turd), so only if you want to be a settings fiddler & reliant on upscaling for modern/future AAA games @ 1080p. I'd sooner buy a Intel Arc A380 6GB for $153 + shipping from China than a 6500XT.

Most gamers? I don't think most of us here know who that is. We live in a bubble and don't realize there's an outside.
It is one of the dualities of aging. While one often becomes wealthier, neuroplasticity goes right in the dumper for most, right along with it. Old dog, new tricks something something.

Trying to reason with PCMR god tier gamers about what the peasant gamers do, is futile.

Directly On Topic: AFOX is a brand I am unfamiliar with, but their cards seem fine. Must not be a N.A. thing yet? Seen a couple of Euro dudes with various AFOX cards lately.

6500XT is still the best NIB card in the price range that can be purchased readily from major retailers. But some keep buying those 1050ti and 1650 for more money. Sad fact of how well gaslighting works.

1030 is not an upgrade over latest AMD APUs, it is even a downgrade in many games vs 5600G/5700G.

OK then lets just keep the 6500XT @ 180 then, ditch the 1030 and bring out the 1050ti. Which i know is better then both Vega 7 and 8 by a landslide and priced 189.00 dollars.

But again at that point id rather get the 6500XT. (one of my if desperation called for it.) Its still a better videocard then a 1050Ti.

Remember this MEME?

Haven't seen that channel before. It is however, an interesting match up, since the 6500xt is winning handily with both cards running in PCIE 3.0 mode. The gap obviously widens on a 4.0 setup. Needs to fix that typo of listing their 10700k as an i9.

I missed the PCIe3 aspect. Wondered why it was only ~50% faster.

Come on guys, don't post videos that play by themselves.

I was at work looking super busy and the hellish audio suddenly starting blasting from my speakers!

One embarrassing incident at work. I got some new headphones delivered to office and I was checking them out. The sound was very low and even at max volume, I could hear only like 10% of the volume I thought I should be getting. Someone tapped me on the shoulder and told me to take my headphones off. The sound isolation of the headphones was so good that audio was blasting thunderously from the internal speakers of my Dell PC and the whole office was like, WTH!???? Turns out, I hadn't inserted the headphones jack properly

Airwolf theme
Ducktales theme
Addams family theme
Monk TV series theme
Ghostbusters theme
Metal Gear Solid theme
Addams family theme
Eye of the tiger
Kung fu fighting
Come Clean - Hilary Duff
Ghosts - Michael Jackson

(I still have them in the work PC hard drive)
