Radeon 64MB VIVO Retail for $135 AR & Trade-In

Nothing too hot here, so I apologize in advance if you were expecting the steamiest deal ever seen, LOL. Here's a deal mainly for people sitting on old, dying Cirrus Logic video cards, Trident cards, Number Nine cards, okay, you get the deal 🙂 You've all probably heard of ATi's trade-up program, right? Well, if you haven't, it works like this:

1.) You send ATi your old video card (sending even that $.99 el cheapo video card with 256K of video RAM is perfectly suitable)
2.) ATi credits you for the card
3.) You purchase a brand new, retail ATi video card from their trade-up program webpage (links come later)
4.) You receive card, open, and enjoy the discounted price
5.) Send in all applicable rebates (only if you like to get a crisp hefty check in the mail)

Links (as promised):

ATi Trade-Up Program Home Page
Calculate shipping charges of your old dusty video card (USPS)

ATi Radeon 64MB VIVO Card $165
ATi Shipping Charge for Card $10
Your Shipping Costs for old card $10 (Assumed)
ATi Rebate included with card -$50
ATi California Resident Tax Charge - 8%
--------------------------------------------------
Total Cost (Non-CA resident): $135
Total Cost (CA Resident): $148.20

Like I said, nothing too smoking here, just a decent deal, if you are sitting on a really really crappy cheap video card. If you've got that Matrox G400 or TNT2, you will probably be better off selling it on eBay or the like, then using that money towards the purchase of a new card. I hope this helps somebody.

Peace

Ummm, okay, Hawk over in the For Sale/Trade forums made this deal stink like cr@p, no joke. Please just head on over to him if you're looking for the ATi Radeon 64MB VIVO card. No rebates, no trade-ins, just a lower price to begin with, and the bliss of knowing you're buying from another AnandTech forum member 🙂
