Radeon 4830 Resolution reset

So my roommate has his computer hooked up to the HDTV in the living room. He has a sapphire radeon 4830 with HDMI. It is hooked up using the HDMI. The problem is whenever we turn off the computer, when it boots back up the resolution is reset to 640 x 480. I have tried updating the drivers multiple times, played with settings but it still seems to do it. Any help?

Have you tried setting up custom resolutions in the manage custom resolutions area of the control pannel?
