In my 900MHz system listed below I am wanting to replace the Voodoo 3 3000 with a better card. It is used for multiplayer sometimes and the Voodoo 3 3000 is kinda wimpy. Or should I go with the Radeon 64Meg DDR for $179?

I have the Radeon 64DDR, and I think it's a very nice card. The 64mb will show a pretty good performance increase over the 32mb. So, if you can afford it, I'd go that route.

Here's some benchmarks, comparing the cards you mentioned. Take particular notice of the higher quality (32bit color) benchmarks.

I would go for a Radeon LE: all the speed of the Radeon 32 DDR, at the price of a GF2MX. The 64M Radeon is only faster because its core and memory are clocked at 183 instead of 165. You could easily do that yourself.

Well, if we are talking about overclocking... The Radeon 64DDR can be upped to 200mhz or more, in most cases.

But yeah, the LE suggestion is an excellent one.

My updated suggestion
Under $100 = Radeon LE
Under $200 = Radeon 64mb DDR

Would the LE be sufficient for Quake3 and UT at 1024 X 768 and 32 bit color?

I think I might go with a Leadtek Geforce 2 Pro 32meg DDR for $155 instead. Thanks to all.

I've got a 32Mb DDR Radeon and I love it, it's a ton faster than my friends 32MB Geforce 2 MX.
