A Radeon of some sort it is going to be. But I have a gew Questions first:

Is there a difference in clock speed between the 64MB Version (OEM and Retail) ? If so, is the slower OEM the same as the 32MB DDR version or is there 3 different Radeon speeds ??

Is it really worth getting the 64MB Radeon, I do high res gaming (when I can!) 1024 and 1280 etc. ?

Again, thank you all very much !!

there is a difference in default clock speed between the OEM and retail cards - 166Mhz and 184Mhz if i remember correctly. As for whether that, or 32 vs. 64 megs makes a difference, i'm running an OEM (a pull from a Dell system) 32 meg DDR Radeon, on an MSI Pro2A board, with a T-bird 700@800 or so. Haven't tested my framerate scores yet, but i see no choppiness whatsoever when running UT at 1280x1024. I doubt that the 64mb would give me a significantly noticeable performance boost.

If you're asking which one to get, then I'd recommend getting a 64MB Engineering sample which has the same clock speed as the OEM, and overclock it. Of course, you won't have hardware DVD or any other of the good stuff that comes with the retail, but if you want that, then get the OEM and OC that.

You do get the DVD hardware assist with an ES. And they OC great!
