Radeon 32MB SDR PCI?

I have a chance to get a Retail Radeon 32MB SDR PCI cheap, but I don't know anything about the card and I'm leary of the "PCI" part.

Is PCI a bad thing for a video card? Is this a decent card? How does it stack up to a Radeon LE? (card in my rig - came clocked at 166) How about a Voodoo3 2000 AGP? (that's what my wife has and that where it will go...)

I'd pass on it, there are much better cards available for the money. The SDR Radeon tends to perform below the GF2 MX in most cases, and it's also extremely dependent upon AGP's advanced features which makes it a poor choice fopr a PCI graphics card.

The Radeon LE will handily outperform it with little difficulty. The PCI SDR Radeon's performance tends to be more in line with that of a GF2 MX200/TNT2 Ultra/V3 3000/3500

I would recommend a SDR PCI Radeon only where there is no AGP slot or where the AGP slot won't provide enough voltage to a modern AGP card (like an older socket 7 mobo I had). Otherwise get a Radeon LE, they're a lot faster.

Probalby be a better idea to keep the V3 and Radeon. THe V3's seem to have ok Beta WIn XP and Win 2k drivers so they'll last a little while longer and the Radeon LE will beat out the Radeon SDR handily, so it's a downgrade there.
