Radeon 32DDR and TV-Wonder

I have the above two products, but on ATI website, it says the ATI Multimedia 7.0 (came with radeon 32ddr) will conflict with TV-Wonder's ATI Multimedia 6.0. The only thing I really need is the DVD player from 7.0. To take advantage of the DVD performance with Radeon, do I need that? Or software like PowerDVD or InterVideo WinDVD utilize the DVD decoding from Radeon too?

Why are you using the TV Wonder in conjunction w/ the Radeon? Doesn't the Radeon have the Rage Theater chip onboard?

can somebody help me???
will other dvd software utilize the dvd playback performance of radeon?
or only ATI's DVD player will?

I had the same issue with my TV-Wonder and Radeon Vivo.
I actually found that my TV Wonder worked ok with the Vivo drivers installed...but I didn't really want to chance it...I also wanted 4 speaker downmix which ATi's DVD player doesn't offer, so I went on a little quest..

check out this thread I posted a while back

PowerDVD does not support iDCT, but WinDVD2000 does, and WinDVD2000 actually had lower CPU usage than ATi DVD Player v7.0 (probably more effecient audio filtering or something like that) and WinDVD2000 supports all sorts of Audio modes, the ATI player has 2 speaker or SPDIF output only.

WinDVD2000 costs $30 but if you have a Radeon it's the best choice for a DVD player in my view.

thanks..
my computer came equipped with WinDVD 2.1... I just downloaded the 2.2 version trial, but I guess it recognized a full version is installed, so no trial period for me..
