RADEON 32 DDR or KYRO II???

My Radeon Le died on me and need to buy a new one. I narrowed it down to Radeon 32 DDR or Kyro II because I only have about ~$85 to spend. Which one should I choose? Let me know you opinion/experience.

BTW, I watch dvd and play UT a lot.

I really like my Kyro 2. With the latest drivers for Win9x it is great. XP drivers need work, PowerVR is in high gear on a new set, which I suppose will be out in the next few weeks. I had a Radeon 64mb, I hated it for the most part. ATI's drivers broke to many games for me (they fix one game, break another, that sorta thing). Kyro plays all my older games really good, as well as newer games. It likes a fast cpu though

I saw couple kyro brand in pricewatch, which one to choose apollo, Inno3d, or hercules? I know hercules but never heard of the first two.

I would get hercules. They make quality products, and offer better support. I have the Herc 4500

i cant say that one is better than the other but i can vouch for the quality and stability of my herc kyroII 4500. ive used it in win2k and XP final and i havent had anything unplayable. one thing i did notice was the lens flare, it seems that any flares can sometimes be seen "through" walls. i just turned it off in SS and it nevered bothered me again. max payne was also nice asnd fast at 1024x768x32 with many of the settings up high. all of his is in my tbird 1066 with 512mb of pc133.

it is hard to judge cards using such old reviews. A lot of improvements have been made in the drivers. Overall, the Kyro 2 is the faster card. Radeon 32 simply cannot touch it in 32bit color, and especially its FSAA performance. Kyro 2 is a hard card to beat when it comes to FSAA speed, only the newer Radeons(8500) and GF3 and GF2 Ultra can best it.
