In other news, the 2600XT gets it's rear handed to it by last-gen 7900/X1950 cards. DX10 works, but at fps that couldn't render a flip-book.

Whomever buys a 2600XT AGP for that price should be shot. Whomever buys an AGP card now should get a stern lecture on financial management and making idiotic purchasing decisions.

Actually, they are the best motion video cards available. If gaming with any kind of upgradeability is the only purpose then yeah, a new PCIe 2.0 system would be the logical choice.

Prices should come down quickly once there is more competition. Hartford/VisionTek seems to have the North America market to themselves at the mo' for the HD2000 AGP series. But the gouging isn't just from the manufacturer as retail prices vary wildy: by 30, 40 and 50% on the 2400Pro, 2600Pro and 2600XT respectively.
