Ok, so I've taken off the HS and fan on the core. I have dismantled an old blue aluminum HS from a 233p2 that is in my "graveyard" I plan on using these pieces for the ram sinks. I also have another aluminum HS that was on a 366Celeron. I'm using this for the core.

I bought some thermal adhesive from RatShack. How long does this stuff take to bond? If it doesn't bond, can I mix silicon with it?

I'm currently patiently waiting on the bonding process right now. The old HS did have a thermal adhesive pad on it? Should I just use that? I'll post pics when this is done, any advice tips etc. are welcome.

Can I mix superglue with the paste if it doesn't bond well enough, it seems to be setting up better, but I don't want the hs, or the Ram sinks to fall off? Anyone?

Ok this stuff I'm thinking is not going to form a hard bond, because I've been reading about the Artic Silver thermal adhesive. So anyone know about adding glue to the paste? I can't see that it would hurt, I don't wanna take it back off.

I don't think adding glue would be a good idea. The heat transfer would be hampered tremendously. You don't have any epoxy handy?

Where can I get some epoxy? I got this Archer Silcone Compound from RatShack. It seems to be setting better, but still not going to be good enough I dont' think.

Thanks BTW Pillage. 🙂

I used a wee drop of superglue on each corner of my core with thermal compound in the middle and it worked like a charm.

Whoo hoo!, now let's try 305/305 (or does it actually set at 306.3/306.3? can't remember)

At 300/300 the 8500 is a very nice peice of hardware.

Wow!!, just looked at the pics, I guess you can rite-off the 1st and 2nd PCI slots eh? hehe.

Those pictures are so bad I think I can make out a Sasquatch in the background 😉

It looks like overkill but congrats!

305/305 not happening. Works with 3Dmark, but locks up in Q3 🙁

Happy with 300/300 though, and I did put some glue on the very edges of the HS, seems to be working fine, won't be able to take it off, but that's fine with me 🙂

Not yet, but searching Google now. I'll have to check in on that and see how far i can push the clock speeds. Thanks 🙂

As soon as I get home tonight, I'm going to try it out, my friend has a voltage meter, I'm going to get it, and make sure I don't fry the 8500. Maybe I'll be able to break 305/305. 🙂
