i think the 1753 model is decent and seems to detect fairly well.

also the 3400 seems to be nice but it is not mobile.

are there any anaders that will reccommend a radar detector

here is the link for radar test http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleID=1064

they rank valentitne third the one i was looking at is a bit cheaper also. I just want something that will warn me because sometimes i speed over 10 miles the limit once in a while when i am not paying attention to the spedometer. and i was hoping the whistler model is ok enough.

v1 or escort 8500...both are good models. It's a matter of Lexus vs. Mercedes...both are the creme de la creme, just a matter of personal taste.

You are right but sometimes radars are incorrect. Once I got pullled o ver for speeding 1 mile over the limit. It was used as a pretext to search my vehicle. I dont think it was right. I guess being a minority didnt help at the same time my cruise was set to the speed limit.

The purpose of this thread was to discuss what radars work the best not whether speeding is justified.

I'd take an 8500 or Bel 985 over a Valentine One ANYDAY. I've been using the high end Bel's for years, and I think the 985 is a top choice over even the 8500.

The 8500 has stronger X sensitivity, but it's not even in use anymore. I really like being able to turn off the bands not in use in my area on my Bel.
