Rackmount LCD screens?

OK a friend of mine wants me to build him a rackmount computer he is a DJ. I found rackmount PC cases, but rackmount LCD monitors are crazy priced. Like $1500 for a 17" I dont know much about the DJ stuff, isnt there a way to make a regular 17" LCD into a rackmount cheaper then spending over $1000 buying one? Any info or help would be great. Thanks!!!
