I need a rack mount case, not for a server, but for an every day computer. Needs to have drive bays on the front, usb ports, video out, (the normal stuff) on the back... briefly searching around the web gave me a bunch of 1U server cases, or massively reduntant RAID, blah blah that I don't need.

What are some brands I should be looking for, what should I expect to pay?

Honestly your best bet would be to find an old AT desktop case and modify it to accept an ATX motherboard. Short work with a dremel, a drill and some mounting posts. You could probbably pick them up for next to nothing if you really looked. Then go to home depot and buy some shelving stuff and drill holes in the case to mount it. Paint it to whatever color and you're done. Rackmount cases are uber-expensive afaik but if you're looking for the rack look this is a way to do it on the cheap.

Rackmount cases are pretty expensive. My friend came across a rack for free, and has been storing it at my house so I was going to get a rackmount case. Your best bet would be to check on ebay.
