Is there such a thing as a rack mounted case with rear slots across the entire width (so like, 19 slots for PCI/AGP/etc devices), and where the motherboard can be mounted such that there is space between the devices and the motherboard, and you have to use risers to hook them up to the mobo?
Basically think of it like a multi-deck case. The top level is 4U, and the bottom level is 1U. The motherboard goes in the bottom level, and the expansion cards go into the top one. I know there are custom servers built like this, and enclosures, etc, but I'd like to just get a case and use my own parts. The pre-built solutions are too expensive.
