First of all, I'm not a PC hound, I could give a rats ass about most stuff. Secondly, equating a caricature that is developed by a company, marketed and sold in to a marketplace with a dumb ass comedian is ridiculous, especially in a country like Germany which has a very poor history when it comes to racial tolerance. I doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the difference, it would be similiar to walking in to Home Depot and buying rope with a caricature of a black man hanging off a tree.. Of course you would probably find some way to justify that as well.

You typed a lot of words but completely avoided answering his question.

German culture is different than ours.

Yes...they invented the Nazi Party.

Equating all Germans with Nazis is like equating all whites to KKK members or all blacks to militant Black Panther members. In other words it's pretty stupid.

What people are forgetting is that being un-PC is not against the law. It might put your delicate panties in a bunch but they are legally allowed to do it. Complain about it all you want, but you're not going to stop it. And raising a stink about it is bound to draw just as many supporters as protesters.

*sigh*

the point i was trying to make (which was obviously lost on some of you) was that if you want to be PC, then be consistent...i would wager the same people that are up in arms about this won't be criticizing a black comedian for making fun of white people...but i would be willing to bet they would be rather irritated if a white comedian started making fun of black people...people abuse political correctness to serve their own ends...its ok, as long as it isn't about them...racism is going to exist until we ALL figure it out, and agree to stop it

people seem to play the race card for personal gain more than any other reason...until the intentions behind it are honorable, we're going to have a racism problem

FYI: i don't discriminate, i hate everybody equally ;)

ok i'm done with this argument

It's a different medium. A comic has a looser leash when it comes to patently offensive material. A comic can also talk about extremely sexually explicit matters in great detail, but to have some extremely sexually explicit bodily fluid or genital type depiction on billboards to advertise a product would not be acceptable. "Suck on our throbbing c***sickle, it's tasty!"

ok, maybe that was a bad example....thats the first thing that came to my head...but you get the gist of what i'm saying, right?
