When my ansestors came here, they worked their asses off to provide for their children. They took the time to LEARN ENGLISH. They did everything for their children to have a better life and then those children worked their asses off for their children.
Today everyone wants everything given to them, so they look to the government for handouts.
Our ansestors didn't get handouts from the governement (which is tax dollars that come from all of our pay checks). Our ansestors probably registered on Ellis Island. Our ansestors didn't sneak over here, have a bunch of kids, get granted amnisty and then look for government assistance.

they don't even need citizenship. i've been a legal resident alien for years. i've worked, gone to school, paid my taxes, all legally. i'm in the process of getting U.S. citizenship now, finally.
i'm not sure what exactly those mexican folks would need to work legally, but i assume it's a work VISA or something like that.
I wish more people would go about it the way IamMe did. Then I would have no problems with immigrants.

I have ancestors who were immigrants.
NONE were illegal immigrants.
They all came over legally.
Those who come over here illegally, should be ejected. Those who wish to come over here should do so Legally. Greater numbers of immigrants should be legally admitted entrance. Anyone caught illegally, should automaticly be denied legal entry for the remainder of their lives. Play by the rules, or don't play at all.

same with my family. my parents were issued student visas to the US because of their excellent academic performance. my dad came on a scholarship to rice univ for pHd study in geology. LEGALLY. my mom a masters in library science at univ missouri columbia. LEGALLY. they have since been law abiding, hard working, and tax paying citizens that contribute to instead of leeching from the system.
I am not defending the racist bastard who did the video. But it leads to the discussion that people who are anti-illegal immigrants usually end up grouped in as racists, which isn't true.

Illegal immigrants suck up tax payer money that should be helping Americans and they depress the incomes of all Americans by doing work for cheap. Instead of Union labor doing the work for a good wage to support an American family these clowns come here and work for peanuts then send what little they make back to the place they came from. Illegal immigrants give nothing back to the society which benefits them. Illegal immagrants are parasites on the American economy and the American people.

Your ancestors did not learn English in one day. It takes 5-7 years for language acquisition to occur, and in adults, it may never occur at anything beyond a basic interpersonal communications skill level. Most hispanic people want to learn the language and assimilate just fine. What they bring with them is a culture and way of life that is different from ours. If you'd take the time to get to know them, they are some of the most pleasant people around. I envy their love of familia - and most of them work much harder than the average 'American'. I'm sure if the immagration rules were not so clearly biased against Latin American countries, they would come over legally as well.
In Mexico, due to the devaluation of the peso in the early 90's, many are living in desparate conditions. I bet if you had loved ones in that situation, you too would look for work by any means necessary. I know that I would. As one immagrant told me once, "The law of the land does not overrride the law that I as a man have to support my family".
I've studied at a gradute level in English Language Acquisition, so continue to spread mistruth and rumors if you must. However, google will illuminate the truth should anyone seek to find it.
The guy in the video should be turned over to the FBI for kidnapping.

When defending an illogical argument, like the acceptance of illegal aliens for example, strawman is an absolute must against your opponents. I mean, how else can you defend criminals and the crime they commit against those who want to see the law enforced?
Regardless, the guy in the video is a total ass, but the ending was very amusing. Think of it though, is it not appropriate to turn criminals into the police? Same thing here, so I don't see what the up-in-arms is about. Gotta give the racist credit about one thing too: those illegals typically are hard-workers, better than a lot of real citizens I know. But still, they are illegals, they are criminals, and should be treated as such. Don't like it, I don't care. The law should be respected until it is changed. I am completely in favor of legal immigration and legal immigrants.
