He doesn't, but most in the country stupidly call a half black man black.

As long as it's inevitable, you might as well lie back and enjoy it.

I thought that was attributed to Indiana (at the time) NCAA basketball coach, Bobby Knight? Did he borrow the line from Williams?

It wouldn't surprise me in the least for this to be a leftist stunt to accuse the Republican party of racism. You see stunts from them all the time to cry to the media about how they were "harmed" or whatever.

Doesn't anyone actually click links anymore?

That is the link embedded in the blog to the original article. It was reported by the Austin Bureau Chief (the state equivalent of a Washington Bureau Chief) of the Dallas Morning News (The 2nd largest daily circulation in the state of Texas and twelfth largest in the US).

This isn't just some blogger making shit up. This is actual news from an very legit news source.

Uhh... I read it - how do you think I got to the actual site? Sheesh. Nothing there changes what I posted. The stunt scenario is a possibility as it's been done in the past.

So then you are accusing the 12th largest US paper of having a state political bureau chief of planting a button at the booth of a right wing paraphernalia distributor to be able to bash them in a story?

And maybe, just maybe the flack that they are getting has forced the company to purge the button from their site? Nah...that couldn't be the case. IT WAS THE LIBRULS CONSPIRING AGAINST THEM! THE BUTTON WAS PLANTED!

Eh? Where did I say the paper planted it? Are you that dense? It's a known tactic by the activist left to do something and then sob to the media. This could be what happened here. I did not say it IS what happened, but I wouldn't be surprised in the least if it were considering their past.

Yeah, they pulled the button.... Funny, no one has ever seen it on their site.

At the Republican state convention, a booth hosted by Republicanmarket was selling a pin Saturday that says: If Obama is President will we still call it the White House.

You claim that it could be a leftist stunt. The reporter claims that the booth was selling them. The only logical conclusion is that the reporter is lying or you are dense. Guess which one I am leaning towards.

Exactly how many times have you visited their site prior to seeing this to know whether it was ever there or not and have you really polled every person that has visited their site to know whether your blanket claim has any basis in reality?

Does every site sell every item that they offer? I know that I have been to Lowes website and cannot find things that I have seen in store. Maybe this site is the same? Or maybe they realized that they were about to face an avalanche of racist backlash and pulled it? Once again, which one seems more logical?

Again, they reporter might actually think he is reporting what is happening but it could be that it was a stunt. That does NOT make the reporter a liar since he would have no way to know if it was a stunt(unless he was a part of it - which likely isn't the case). So no, your supposed "logical conclusion" is not "logical" at all since you obviously don't have a clue what I've stated.
I have never visited the site, likely you have not either. I'd bet that the reporter has not also. Your point? Oh yeah, they pulled it... or they only sell it locally... or ...or ....or ...or...

...OR it could be a stunt. It's plausible seeing how stunts have been pulled in the past by leftist activists.

"AH yes the Scotts, love to drink but hate paying for it."

Well shit, for what good whiskey goes for these days, can you blame us? :)

J/k - the miser stereotype is pretty close. My grand dad was worth millions and would still stop to pick up pennies he saw on the ground, even when he was in his late seventies and could hardly walk and breathe.

Some one pull up the thread about Obama's campaign headquarters having a Cuban flag with Guevara on it.

And then watch all the people on the left try to dismiss it as a 'non-story.'

There are idiots on both sides and it is a shame that they make those of us who aren't crazy racists or socialists look bad.

You just did. You can try to make any kind of story you want to out of it. It may offend you, but there's no way any Cuban flag or picture of Che is racist in the way that button is.

Texas GOP cuts off vendor that sold racist button

State GOP spokesman Hans Klingler said the party does not vet the merchandise being sold

The state GOP party said today that it will donate the $1,500 rent it collected from the vendor to Midwestern flood victims

It was a little bit late, but nNice of them to do the right thing. From the same article:

AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Republican Party is distancing itself from a vendor who sold campaign buttons at last weekend?s state convention that asked, "If Obama is president ... will we still call it The White House?"

The state GOP party said today that it will donate the $1,500 rent it collected from the vendor, Republicanmarket.com, to Midwestern flood victims.

State GOP spokesman Hans Klingler said the party does not vet the merchandise being sold, but officials plan to discuss doing so in the future. The button sales at the convention in Houston were first reported in the Dallas Morning News.

"This vendor need not apply to another Texas GOP state convention," Klingler said. "We will neither tolerate nor profit from bigotry."
.
.
(continues)

However, the last three paragraphs in the story suggest this isn't the first time Texas Republicans have taken the low road:

The Texas Republican party, whose platform is often far to the right of the national GOP, has been in hot water over diversity issues before.

In 1998, the Log Cabin Republicans, the nation?s largest organization of gay Republicans, was denied a booth at the GOP state convention in Fort Worth and likened to the Ku Klux Klan by a Texas Republican Party spokesman.

"We don?t allow pedophiles, transvestites or cross-dressers, either," then-GOP spokesman Robert Black said at the time.

And I'm not saying Republicans are the only bigots. In my OP, I said there are racist idiots of all stripes. This one just happened to be noteworthy, which is why I posted it.

Then again, you're the one who earlier questioned IF it happened, at all.
