Is there no Chinese population to speak of anywhere near where you live? (Other Asian nationalities have their own "ethnic" bakeries too, but they're not as common in areas with large numbers of Korean and Japanese immigrants/recent descendants and expats as they are in similar Chinese neighborhoods.) Offhand I can't even count the number within 1/2 mile of my apartment and I don't live near either of Brooklyn's larger "Chinatown" areas, even...

I live in San Gabriel Valley. I'm swimming in Asian stores. In fact, I even live within a few miles of five Filipino bakeries! I don't think I've ever seen any of them in the US outside of Southern CA.
