Wow, my production sure has looked good this past weekend.🙂

Too bad I can't take all the credit for it.:frown: I would like to thank whoever was crunching wu's for me this past weekend, it was very generous of you.🙂

I am back to just my PIII and my P150 🙁, I let the people know that the race was over and they jumped at the chance to remove the program that was supposedly causing so much instablility... oh well... I should get a celery 566@750 and a T-Bird 750@850 going pretty soon...

If I catch the drift there, you are accusing me of helping Blade?
I'm sorry that just pisses me off.
If you will look at ProZacks output I account for over half, as I said I would earlier.
I'm giving him a couple weeks of help for his help earlier.
Why in the world would you bring me into it?
I personaly feel that helping someone in the race would be unfair. My racing is over..

BTW my output each day here at home is around 28. DUH

OK all lets not start fighting like the rc5 bunch did when I first joined them. BTW that's why I quit doing rc5, to much bull, but they seem to have everything worked out for now🙂 I would hate to see a bickering match between 2 of our GREAT members flare up over a race.

Sorry if I offend anyone but I think that we need not bicker over a little ole race that benfits the team as a WHOLE

Thx

Well said danzigrules. I would not have even mentioned it except for the fact that I figured whoever helped out would be following the race thread.🙂

Who knows, it may be someone who's not even a member of TA. If that's the case it's no different than any other assimilation. I know several people who don't have active seti accounts but crunch wu's for members of various teams of the forums they frequent (sometimes anonimously). Though more than likely whoever it was is a member of TA.😀

1) that I figured whoever helped out would be following the race thread.
nice theory, except that i (along with a lot of other people) frequently read the other threads. and although there are a few people that are "phantom" helpers, most of us do not condone/accept cheating.

2) SilverBack told us a while back that he would help out Prozac now that he reached 2000. if you actually kept up, you would have known that, and we could have avoided your insinuation.

Edited: I left what I thought was still applicable after the misunderstanding was cleared up.🙂

<<nice theory, except that i (along with a lot of other people) frequently read the other threads. and although there are a few people that are "phantom" helpers, most of us do not condone/accept cheating>>

I myself read every thread in the DC that has anything that I think is of interest to me. If I were helping someone I'd follow the thread that's listing their progress since it would obvious be of interest to me.

I have no idea who crunched them for me. If they are an active member of TA's seti team then I guess it's cheating. If they are not an active member of TA's seti team, which many of the "phantom" crunchers I know aren't nor do some of them ever crunch for TA, then how is it any different than anyone else's assimilations other than the fact that I didn't ask for their help? I think nearly everyone else in this race recruited someone to crunch for them or ran seti on machines where they work except me. Every wu I've ever crunched up to this past weekend has been on my home machines that I built myself except for my sister's C366 @ 550 which I built and gave to her.

I admit it's highly likely that whoever donated wu's to me was an active member of TA's seti group since I have no way of knowing if they are or not I'll drop out of the race for sake of fairness.

I enjoyed the race guys but I'm done with it now. You can remove me from the daily race updates.🙂

Well how did I know that this was gonna happen?

Still do not see the point in bickering over a race that benefits the team as a whole.

Who cares who wins a race between teammates? Yeah it's nice when people say good job, way to go, etc. But to bicker over it geezz

Hell I'm getting my but kicked in my race to 400, but who cares? Not me!! Do you??? I doubt it!!

Can't we all just get along?😉

danzigrules I agree with you. To me this isn't about the race. I knew when I entered it that I wouldn't win. I'm happy to see everyone up their output for the betterment of the team.🙂

Edited🙂

actually, i'm not sure why blade and tuffguy are bickering, this all started with my little post about 8 up or so... i just figured that those work comps or whatever that were helping silverback got taken away after the race was over (thats gonna happen to me too i think... sucko...). didn't even remember prozack until he was mentioned, but now i do remember welcoming him, and silverback's good-ole-boy trade. anyhoo... stop bickering over a comment made in jest by a sick (achoo!) man who had just woken up! 🙂

I agree wholeheartedly with Elfenix. After you two started, I read the thread over and I thought it was strange that ya'll are fighting over what Elfenix said in jest(I thought his comment was made in jest too). Anyhow, blade, if you're quitting, I'm sorry. I don't think you should, since you have a good shot at catching Phiton😛

As far as recruiting outside of my house is concerned, I'm as guilty as anyone. I've got machines crunching for me in 2 different companies, 2 different cities and 4 different zip codes, supposedly. But dang, can you blame me??? I was soooo far behind when I started!

1) edited for intended content - separated what was intended for blade_47 from the paragraph.

2) I myself read every thread in the DC that has anything that I think is of interest to ME. If I were helping someone I'd follow the thread that's listing their progress since it would obvious be of interest to me.

there are many thing that interest us, or at least me, that has to relevance to what i'm participating in. i myself read most threads but only respond when i thing i have something to contribute. your theory is right, but not absolute. based on your theory, danzigrules might be helping one of us or you since he does find this thread to be of interest.

3) just because it happened to you, it does not mean that it is a common occurance. it has never happened to me.

I APOLOGIZE if you think i singled you out. i should have made myself more clear. unfortunately i was up all night studying, so i'm a bit woozy. i never accused you of cheating. i just said that we do not condone/accept it. if you knew who was giving you units you would not accept them and ask them to stop.

the comment about keeping up was meant for elfenix. the moment i read it i knew that silverback would take offense to it, which he did, and apparently elfenix had forgotten about prozak.

I find this thread of intrest because I do not want to see our team bickering.

And that is the only reason. I mean to offend noone here, and if I did I apologize.

I will stay out of the race post that I am not running in, and will no longer comment in these threads.

BTW if I was helping someone out in this race I would have said something about it!!

So LATER

danzigrules - you're not offending anyone, and i always enjoy reading your input. unfortunately, i think i got the wrong point across, again. i'll shut up now before i offend anybody else.

Time for a change in mood

>>>Hell I'm getting my but kicked in my race to 400, but who cares? Not me!! Do you??? I doubt it!!<<<<

Hell yes I do! ,I've got money on you & now you tell me your gonna lose? 😉

Pretty bad when you bet against yourself😉

I'll take about 50 w/u from ya if you care to give them....😱

Just kidding

Tuffguy and I had a little talk on PM It's all good🙂

<< I don't think you should, since you have a good shot at catching Phiton >>

🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Phiton 😉

The "bickering" was just a misunderstanding on my part of TuffGuy's original post. Luckily he PM'd me and I now know that all the comments weren't directed at me. So I edited out what I felt I should.🙂

ElFenix

I thought your post was in jest. The reason I got upset was when I read TuffGuy's original post it sounded to me as if I were being blamed for insinuating that SilverBack or someone else on TA was cheating for me. By me thanking whoever crunched the wu's for me I felt that it was being implied that I was thanking them for helping me cheat. To tell the truth I thought it so kind that someone had been unselfish enough to donate wu's to me that it never crossed my mind that it was considered cheating.

poopaskoopa

What upset me was when I read the original post it seemed to me I was being blamed for what ElFenix had said. Fortunately TuffGuy cleared up the misconception.

I seriously doubt I'd ever catch Phiton.🙂 Even if I did it seems that since a phantom cruncher donated wu's to me it's cheating. So even if I did catch Phiton it wouldn't mean anything to me since I'd have cheated to do so.:frown:

I'm very glad that you recruited outside your home. I'm very proud of everyone involved in the race and the way they increased their output through assimilations. I would love to have access to the machines at work to install seti or to get some other people to crunch for me. But unfortunately it's not an option for me. Since I'll never be able to get the assimilations I need to become a big hitter for TA I try to console myself by taking pride in the fact that every wu I had crunched had been done on my own machines. This is not meant as a putdown to anyone who has remote herds it's just a way to help me take a little pride in my output.

As I stated above I wrongly got the impression that I was being accused of condoning cheating which hurt my pride to think that someone here would think that poorly of me. I really thought I had carried myself better than that. But like I said that was my misconception of what was being said.

More than likely the phantom cruncher is a regular contributor to TA's seti effort so in turn it's cheating. Since this is the most likely scenario the only fair thing is to drop out of the race.🙁

TuffGuy

Anyone could be the one who helped me. My reason in posting in this thread was: One I didn't want to start an entire thread on it and two I figured whoever did do it would probably take a look at this thread. I never meant to imply someone was following this thread and helping someone cheat. I honestly thought whoever donated them was one of the phantoms that visit here frequently but don't crunch for TA's seti team on a regular basis. If this is the case to me it wouldn't be cheating. To everyone else it may be and that is fine. If they want to lable me a cheater for this that's there belief and they have every right to think of me that way.

The point I was trying to make is if an active TA seti member donated wu's then I guess it's cheating since the team would have gotten them anyway, they were just redirected to someone else. But if the person who crunched them is one of the phantom crunchers that I know of that visits our forums but don't regularly crunch wu's for TA then how is that any different than assimilations? The wu's would still be wu's that the team wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

I don't think assuming that there's a good possiblilty that the phantom cruncher might check this thread out is very far fetched. I never meant to imply that whoever reads this thread was definetly the one.

BTW I know that having a phantom flusher isn't a common thing nor do I think that anyone here would intentionally try to help someone cheat. That is why I assumed that whoever it was didn't regularly crunch for TA and didn't consider it cheating and might be following the thread.

To everyone

Sorry for the long post. I apologize to TuffGuy for over reacting on this matter. It wasn't his fault. I've tried to be helpful to the team but today I feel like I've done more harm than anything else.:frown:

This race has helped the team greatly and I hate that I tarnished the accomplishments of everyone by bringing all of this negativity here. I still believe the best thing is for me to drop out of the race in fairness to all the remaining participants.🙂

Great bunch of folks! I suspected things would work out ok (glad it did). 🙂
Now, I have a little "splaining" to do. I built another machine over the weekend, and dumped my w/u's this morning around 6:30. Kinda fun to watch the production build, then dump ten at the time. It's only a p2-350 @409 for now. When compuwhiz comes up with a cco 700E, I'll have another little seti monster. This is what I was alluding to in my previous post with all the smiles and wink.
Blade_47, I have a slight problem understanding your point of view. Just because someone possibly donated some production to your account, you are going to quit racing? I believe that you are a fine upstanding southern gentleman. But I can't believe that you're going to quit the race! No, I'm not giong to let this happen without a fight! Here is my proposal - idle your fleet on seti for the approximate amount of time that it would take to generate the production you were gifted with. During that time run RC-5 or some other distributed computing project for Team Anand Tech. (just don't start liking it) You will feel better, the TeAm will still benefit, and I don't lose a racing buddy.
😎 Personally, I'm not concerned about the extra w/u's you were given.
Like you, I have no assimilations. It's difficult to win races that way. But we can be extra proud of our production while cheering on the guys who are able to assimilate, err asslaminate, whatever. Don't know if you noticed but I've been watching some production fall while we continue to ramp up. My only down-fall is that my family loves to play UT, and that plays hell with production!
Keep up the good fight and continue with a great race. Please consider my proposal - it's a win, win deal. 🙂

Phiton

well if i am seeing things right it now seems that siverback has left us to run rc5 now🙁

I would assume that it happened from this post?

/me is sad 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁
