WOW TuffGuy GOOD JOB!!

Oh BTW I'm still pushing 🙂

i wish, but not likely. at least not until the dual/quad tbird boards come out. i "borrowed" a couple of computers for a day, but i'm back to ~15 a day again.

not yet. win98 died completely on me yesterday, so i'm only running win2k on it right now, and i just don't want to risk severely damaging anything, so seti isn't up and running yet. my old machine only did 1.5-2 wu's a day, so my total production isn't hurting that much, but it's the potential that i have now that's killing me. i'm going to try to scrape together some more cash so i can get a stick from crucial. that ought to solve my memory woes. until then, i have a sweet, sweet machine that's just idling a lot. oh well. maybe by wednesday it'll be up and running seti again, and then look out fellow racers!

I know it must be rough to have that much potential just sitting there idling.
Have you considered obtaining the diagnostic utility from your hdd manufacturer and doing a write test? Sounds as though 98 is corrupted beyond repair anyway. Would give you something to do while you wait for the fresh stick of ram-may gain some insight on the problem also.🙂
Hang in there guy, am sure you will soon be adding at least another six or seven w/u's a day to your production with that machine. 😎

BTW, good choice on the ram. I run Crucial in all my machines and never see a blue screen.

i did a clean install of win2k since that's the only os i'm able to run. at least i'll be able to use the computer for class work and the web and won't suffer any withdrawl pains or anything. 🙂 i'm going to order the ram tonight or tomorrow and that way i'll have the system up and running win98 this week.
