we'll probably see a hispanic president before we see a female or black president.

or maybe I've just been watching too much West Wing ;)

I think it's somebody from the other category under minorities. Consider that an "idiot savant" would have to be a minority. Oh but wait, you were asking about the future. Excuse me.

You aught to add a poll for what party will nominate the first woman/minority president :)

I sure as hell hope not...Condi that is.

Why's that?
First of all i am a fiscal conservative with progressive values and conservative on foreign involvement.
That being said, she fails on the latter two, with questionable stance on the first (yet to see). I have not liked what i have heard out of her so far in her new position. Not only that but she miserably failed in her last position. Lying to the 9/11 commission ranks extremely low in my books. The only reason conservatives like the woman is because they are able to help shed the traditional republican party look. They have for years tried to show they are open to women's and ethnic rights.
She's smart background wise...but that's all she has going for her.

Five for Republican? WTF? You should put a 'be serious please' disclaimer in this poll.

And what party is Liberal??? Are you talking about England?

Hey money talks and there are always those willing to sell out their own interests and ethnicity for power....not surprising.

I wouldn't mind having a woman president as long as they can do the exact same job as a male president. But you know what 2Pac said about a black president. When the day comes I won't have a problem with it though.

I'd bet a white woman president comes first, and probably a male black president following. I dunno which party it'll happen in though. Probably democratic, if Hillary runs.

There are too many people in this country uncomfortable with the idea of anyone other than a white male leader that I don't think anything will happen for a while. I'm 21, and I think I MIGHT see it happen. Large parts of this country are still as rascist and sexist as they think they can get away with.

But when it does happen, I think it will be a black, male, Democrat. I hate to stereotype, but Democrat voters are concentrated in larger cities, and cities are generally more progressive when it comes to that kind of thing. As to why black before female? Look at the workplace for clues. People are, on average, more comfortable with a black manager than a female one. At least that seems to be the case.

By the way, I've noticed the poll is (ATM) evenly split between Republicans and Democrats...and I think I know why. The Republicans have been good about including minorities, in supporting roles. Believe me, there is a huge difference between doing that and putting them into the big chair.
