About a week ago I built my new system. Had some issues with AI tweaker messing with my RAM but all that has been fixed and its fine. It was running perfectly until today when all of the sudden the screen goes black (as in the moniter has no imput). Also the lights on my wireless usb devices went out (the usb end plugged in the rear usb ports). It wasnt even running anything tasking, just mozilla firefox with steam and avast clients running. Tried hard booting and the fans and lights come on but no imput to the moniter and no lights on the usb or keyboard.
CPU: i7 2600K
Mobo: ASUS P8P67 LE
Ram: Patriot G2 Division 2 8gb DDR3
GPU: XFX radeon 6870
Sound: Creatve Labs X-Fi
Case: Cooler Master HAF 932
Hard Drive: WD Caviar Black 1tb
PSU: Ultra X3 850 W
OS: WIndows 7 64 bit
All these parts (except psu sound and gpu which are less than 6moths old) were purchased within 2 weeks of this post. Before you ask, everything is connected, mobo is on standoffs, no I did not overclock although yes i do plan to once I get a cooler that didnt come with the cpu. I think its probably a mobo issue as all signs point to that but I clearly am not all that knowledgable in this field, thanks for all input and consideration.

Are you saying there is no heat sink or fan installed on the cpu at all until you get one? If so then that is where your problem lies. I suggest you don't us your rig until you can cool the cpu properly and avoid he risk of damage if you haven't done so already.

I guess I wasnt clear enough I have the one that came with the cpu on it right now, I just dont want to OC with it because we all know those coolers arent the best. So yes there is a CPU fan in place.

Adding more information I know that non of the USB ports are working. The CPU fan and all of the case fans are running, the power light on the motherboard is on, the hard drive does work (tested it in another computer), tested the moniter on another computer and it works, tested the graphics card on another computer an it works, so its down to RAM (which I cant switch out or test because I dont have another DDR3 board or spare DDR3 ram and I obviously cant run memtest), the CPU (which I cant test because I dont have a spare 1155 socket board) the motherboard (which I have no idea how I would test), and the power supply (have attempted the fix seen in other threads where you unplug it for a few hours to drain it and that didn't seem to work). Again this was working for a week with only minor RAM issues (setting the speed to auto in AI tweaker). I was literally running games on it just hours before this happened so it wasn't that it was overwhelmed or something. Hope this helped.

You could try removing all RAM sticks, and trying one stick in each slot, then the other stick? If one stick or slot is bad this might help figure which one it is.

It actually sounds like the symptoms that the Sandy Bridge CPU's were recalled for back in January!
