AMD @ Computex is on June 3 at 10AM in Taipei, which is June 2 @ 10PM Eastern. Should know more by the time they wrap up at 11.

You think a 6-to-8 pin adapter will provide enough juice or will it have to add a SATA or molex connector?

It doesn't seem to have been a problem for all the R9-285 cards out there now.

It's a dual 6-pin to single 8-pin adapter, usually.

Two six pin plugs from your power supply, or one 8-pin plug from your power supply.

Somewhere there's a team of AMD PR folks trolling the web, feeding all manner of misinformation about the 300-series to the overly eager masses. I'm convinced of that now.

I think that both are totally viable theories and I also think we'd be utterly disappointed to learn some people aren't.

Honestly though, there's so many rumors and so many things that don't fit with each theory there's only one way to solve the question.

If that was true, then they're doing a pretty poor job. The rumor sites all seem convinced that the 300 series consists of pure rebrands.

I like the single 8 pin, same power as 2x6 pin, but smaller. Pretty much all psu's have 6+2 anyway, saves a cable.

That's kinda my point. There have been so many alleged and contradictory leaks about HBM, VRAM quantities, Fury, rebrands, respins, pricing, etc. that it's nearly impossible to know anything at this point. I'm not sure if there are just that many more sources now (like vidcardz, etc.) or if it's the excitement surrounding a new memory architecture, or if it's just the excitement of *maybe* seeing the underdog annihilate the smug competition... All the while, very little confirmation or denial of anything from AMD. All press is good press, I guess.

Maybe we're just used to NVIDIA being so by-the-numbers with its releases that we don't know what to do when AMD does things different.
