R9 290 100% GPU Usage at Desktop

Anyone else having this issue? I noticed that my new R9 290 is stuck at 100% GPU usage at idle on desktop, resulting in 95c temperatures all the time. I don't know what the issue could be. running 13.11 beta'

My guess would be a driver issue. Did you wipe the drivers before you switched to the 290?

This. Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and give it a run. I've seen this same issue pop up on other forums and MAM has always taken care of it.

Possible I guess....But looking at his sig I'd think he would already have had the 100% gpu issue if so.

I seem to have this issue in my LTC mining rigs. When I boot to desktop, one of my GPUs will be running 100%. When I start up my mining, this results in a display driver crash/recovery because of the GPU running at 100%. But none of them will ever see activity again until I tell them to. Is this normal of such a mining trojan? I thought it was more a driver bug because they never turned themselves back on when left idle from there on.

Cleared out drivers, re installed and all seems well again.
