New. The 270 has been out a while. The 380 is going to do much better on current games than the 270.

If you were looking at less than half the price, maybe... but a used GPU can be a bad bet.

It's a 380 4GB I presume? 2GB cards at that price arent worth buying.

What CPU?

Yeah it's a 380 4gb and my CPU is a pentium g4400 and I havnt built the pc yet still gathering parts. And the 270 is only 2 gb and its used so I think I'll stick with the 380

For that CPU I would rather have the 270x. But $115 used is a little high. The equivalent current gen card is R7 370 2GB which can be found new for $119... and a 4GB model for $125... used 270X should cost maybe $70-80 at most.

For R9 380 4GB I would buy an i3 minimum.

My budget is small right now but when I get a job over the summer I intend to upgrade to an i5 6600 or i7 4970 so I don't mind if my gpu bottle necks my CPU until I have the money to upgrade my CPU

So I want a gpu that is a happy medium and not to expensive that's why I was looking at the 380 4gb

R9 380 gives alot of bang for the buck right now. There area few good ones right around $170.- after rebate.

Really depends on what resolution you play at and what kind of games you want to play.

Go for the 380 then. :)

i5 6600 or i7 4970

The i7-4790 probably doesn't make sense since you can't put it in an LGA1151 motherboard. As for i5 I'd probably go with i5-6500 over i5-6600, both of them are easily enough for R9 380 4GB
