i bought this card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814202049
Its a 4gb r9 270x and i want to crossfire it with a different card,
was wondering if either of these cards would work

or

would it be better to just get the same card or go with one of my two choices. my mainboard supports 3 way crossfire and was thinking about getting 2 cards but don't think that 3 different video cards will want to work together smoothly

Any of those cards will crossfire together. A bit of pertinent info, though.

1) If you crossfire your 4gig card with a 2gig you will only be able to use 1/2 the memory of your 4gig card (2gig not 4), which would kinda suck. When in crossfire one card can't load more info into memory than the other. While 4gig is overkill for a single card, if you are going to run multiple cards the additional memory above 2gig could be useful depending on resolution and how long you want to keep the cards.

2) Newegg is overcharging (Surprise, surprise!), buy elsewhere. (I actually recommend boycotting Newegg period. Don't buy anything from them. Their pricing shenanigans are just over the top, IMO.)

Assuming you are in the States, you can get the same Sapphire card you already have for $260, or if you don't need it right away you can get a Windforce card direct from Amazon for $240. The Windforce and the Sapphire will crossfire together just fine.

I am not worry about the price and i got that 4gb card from newegg when it was $220.
I am afraid of the memory issue, I read somewhere that it would just cut the memory to the lowest card and it would feel like such a waste.

What I original thought I might be able to do was overclock the current card i had to that Asus or Toxic card so it would match but if it will drop the overall memory lower i guess there is no point since i got the card in the first place because of the extra memory.

Thanks for the help

That's fine. I just wanted you to know there is no reason to stick with the same model card except for brand preference or cosmetics. Sticking with the same amount of memory though is probably a good idea. Also, while you might not be worried about price I don't recommend paying more than you have to. :)

Yeah i understand the don't pay more then you have to i just like to link newegg because they have good detail on each product plus $220 was a fair price for the card see how retails are taking advantage of the low supply right now and are jacking up the price on AMD video cards. You could get better info on the card by heading to the manufacturers website but that's a pain. Do you think there would be a way to increase the memory so when you add another video card it just extends the amount of memory instead of syncing it to the other card?
